Elena Smirnov-Otis

Elena Smirnov-Otis is Financial Representative with The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Pacific Advisors Office in San Jose). Originally from Russia, she came to the US in 1996 as a Visiting Science Fellow at Stanford University. Prior to joining Guardian, she spent 10 years with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. Her practice is focused on  helping her clients to secure financial future for themselves, their businesses, and their families. She specializes in providing diversified financial solutions for businesses and individuals, including life insurance, disability income insurance, retirement strategies,  business continuation plans, executive compensation plans, estate analysis, employee benefits, etc.

In addition to serving on the Board of the Financial Women Association of San Francisco, Elena is actively involved with the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Business Economics. She is also the Co-Founder of  SFERA-Russian American Business and Professional Women Association. Her hobbies include playing tennis and singing with Sweet Adelines (Bay Area Showcase Chorus.)

Elena holds MBA in Finance and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Moscow Academy of Management. She has Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU^®) designation from American College (Philadelphia, PA).
