The Financial Women’s
Association Of San Francisco –Silicon Valley Group
presents
A Professional Development Series Event: "Women and Men Are Different! Negotiation Style:
Cooperative or Competitive?"
Wouldn’t it be great if we could ask for and get what we
want, when we want it? Shouldn’t everyone understand your
position on an issue? Shouldn’t everyone agree with the
position? Maybe. Or...maybe not!
Negotiations! Discussions! Arbitrations! Arguments! Mixed
motives! Wouldn’t you agree that whether you like it or not,
both at work and at home, people often begin with different
positions on an issue? When agreement is necessary to choose
between possibilities, we must negotiate and perhaps
compromise to move ahead. Whether we strategize in advance
of the moment or find ourselves in an unexpected
negotiation, choosing the style of negotiating is key to
improving the chances of reaching the outcome we desire.
Please join us Tuesday, April 11th for this dinner
event where Professor Peter Robinson of Pepperdine
University will explore cooperative and competitive
negotiation styles. Women and men may differ in their
styles, and knowing when to employ each style is key to a
successful negotiation and improves the chances of the
desired outcome.
The program runs from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Il
Fornaio Restaurant, 327 Lorton in Burlingame, CA .
Fees are $45 for members and $55 for non-members or guests.
Walk-ins are an additional $5 for both members and
non-members or guests if space is available.
